Description
SUMMARY
Our Shippers are responsible for safely and accurately staging and loading the trucks with completed parts and materials. They take images of each shipment and stage area to ensure accuracy and accountability. All the shippers are required to meet DOT test standards.
Essential Functions
- Stage and load customer orders as instructed utilizing work orders and bills of materials.
- Insuring no delays in scheduled shipments
- Organize materials to ensure the most efficient access at the shipping department.
- Remove finished goods from the production departments and staging/loading areas to be prepared to be shipped.
- Organize materials, remove refuse, and arrange shipping department and shipping yard areas to ensure that they are kept neat
- Support shipping and receiving departments as needed
- Additional job duties and responsibilities as dictated by business needs.
education & TRAINING requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Self-motivated to work on an individual basis as well as with a team
- Ability to follow instructions
work experience requirements
- At least one year’s experience in a manufacturing and/or similar work environment.
- Previous forklift experience and/or the ability to become a certified forklift operator
- Ability to work within different computer programs as needed to complete work-related tasks.

- Ability to work outside in all-weather climates
- Lift up to 50 lbs. at waist level and up to 30 lbs. at shoulder level on an occasional basis when moving products; lift to 75 lbs. at waist level on a rare basis.
- Push or pull with up to 75lbs of force up to an occasional basis when moving products
- Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
- Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks.
- Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products.
- Stoop, kneel, or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products.
- Stand up on a continuous basis and walk up to a frequent basis during each shift.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours a day

- Safety Awareness: Demonstrates consistent adherence to safety policies and DOT standards. Use proper lifting techniques, PPE, and equipment (e.g, forklifts) to prevent injury.
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Verifies shipment contents match work orders and bills of materials. Ensures all shipments are staged correctly and documented with required photos for accountability .
- Organization and Efficiency: Maintains orderly staging and shipping areas for optimal workflow. Plans truck loading sequences to reduce handling and prevent damage.
- Communication and Teamwork: Works closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to coordinate outgoing shipments. Communicate clearly about delays, issues, or discrepancies.
- Reliability and Accountability: Shows consistent attendance and punctuality. Takes responsibility for the accuracy and condition of all outgoing shipments.
- Technical and Equipment Proficiency: Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Use computer programs or scanners to update shipment records accurately.
- Problem Solving and Adaptability: Identify and resolve issues (e.g., damaged goods, missing materials) quickly. Adjusts to changing shipping schedules or priorities without compromising safety or accuracy .
- Quality Orientation: Ensures all outgoing products meet company standards for presentation and packaging. Understands that quality shipping supports customer satisfaction and brand reputation.
- Initiative and Work Ethic: Stays proactive in maintaining clean, organized workspaces and supporting team goals. Performs job duties efficiently with minimal supervision.
